This is a macro abstraction of a rose, experimenting with contrast and color saturation. It ended up almost looking like intricately decorated paper; it’s so crisp you can almost feel the crinkly edges and hear the petals rustling.
As a bonus: Every color of rose has its own meaning, and the roses in this and “Abstract Rose II” happen to be not only my favorite color, visually, but as far as meanings go. The meaning of yellow is friendship, caring, joy and “remember me,” while the meaning of orange is enthusiasm and passion; together, they represent friendship deepening into love.
